The short version:

Any media fandom is eligible, including Original Works and Creator's Choice of Fandom.

RPF in general is allowed. Currently underage (under 18) famous people, non-famous people, politicians, serial killers, nazis, and fascists are not allowed.

Romantic/sexual relationships, gen relationships, and solo characters are all allowed. Nominate single characters under the relationship slot as "Solo: Character"

You can nominate 1-10 fandoms, with up to 20 characters/relationships each, and up to 20 freeform tags.

Please nominate with an indication of who you would like to be traumatized, and include disambiguations.

General Guidelines:

Any fandom is eligible if it has already been released, or will be released by the time signups close. This includes Original Works, Creator's Choice of Fandom, and RPF.

Please use the canonical name for your fandom on AO3 if it already exists. If a canonical tag does not exist, that’s okay, you can still nominate it.

In general, please avoid the use of All Media Types-style nominations; be specific. If you believe your fandom is best suited to an AMT nomination, please comment here.

Nominations cannot require two separate ships, but they can ask for a ship and another character. For example: Nagito Komaeda/Hajime Hinata & Chiaki Nanami (Danganronpa) (all traumatized)

Please disambiguate your nominations. For example:Shauna Shipman/Taissa Turner (Yellowjackets) (both traumatized) or Gideon Nav/Harrowhark Nonagesimus (TLT) (Harrow traumatized)

Please avoid piping where possible. For example: Solo: Jonathan "Jon" Sims | The Archivist (TMA) should be nominated as Solo: Jonathan "Jon" Sims (TMA). If you think piping makes the most sense for your fandom, please comment here before nominating.

If your nomination is getting too long, abbreviations of character names are fine. For example: Bill/Mike/Ben/Eddie/Beverly/Richie/Stanley (IT movies) (all traumatized).

Defined character groups within canon (such as a team or a club) are fine to use. If you are offering this, please remember that the requested work must feature every character in that group. For example: Neil Josten & The Foxes (AFTG) (Neil traumatized) would require Neil to interact with all of his teammates within the fic, and art must include all of them. Use discretion with nominations and offers.

If a character is your little black dress and you don't care who they're shipped with, you can nominate this as, for example: Archie Andrews/Any (Riverdale) (Archie traumatized). This only includes canon characters—Archie Andrews/Original Female Character should be a separate nomination. If you nominate this, you cannot DNW any ship in the category covered, but you can be more specific: Archie Andrews/Any Male Character, Archie Andrews/Any Other High School Student, Archie Andrews/Any Parent are acceptable.

For Crossover ships, please nominate under Crossover - Fandom and disambiguate what fandom they are from. Example nomination format would be:

Original Work pairings:
If you have a gender preference for Original Works, please bake that into nominations. If the request is unspecified, your writer can choose any configuration. Example Original Works Nominations would be:

Middle Aged Mother & Teen Daughter Who Inherited Generational Trauma (OW) (both traumatized)

We’re allowing Creators Choice of Fandom. You may get more specific within the relationship nominations, limiting it to male characters or family dynamics. If there’s no specifications, the writer can use whatever gender configuration they want.

Father/Daughter (CCOF) (daughter traumatized)

General/Loyal Subordinate (CCOF) (subordinate traumatized)

Specific franchises:

Star Wars: nominate ships/characters either under the trilogies (Star Wars Original Trilogy, Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Star Wars Sequel Trilogy) or other Star Wars properties (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic).

Marvel Cinematic Universe: nominate specific subfranchises or TV shows for pairings within those (for example: Gamora/Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy, Matt Murdock/Elektra Natchios in Daredevil, Carol Danvers/Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel). Nominate under Marvel Cinematic Universe for pairings including characters from The Avengers, different subfranchises or different tv shows (Peter/Tony, Kate Bishop/Nebula, Carol Danvers/Wanda).

Marvel comics: nominate by universe (Marvel 616, etc)

DC: nominate the recent movies under “DC Extended Universe” and main continuity comics under DCU (Comics).

Arrowverse: all TV shows under DC's Arrowverse

If your canon is part of a franchise that may be confusing/you think requires specific nomination rules, please comment below to explain and we can look at it.

Freeforms:

The freeforms should all be related to the theme of the exchange. Some examples:

Abuse - Character A lives with abusive caregiver B; Character A tries to survive the experience

Aftermath - Character A is raped; character A copes badly

Art - Character Covered in Bruises

Chronic Illness - Character A is dying of cancer: character B & C comfort each other

Mental - Being Comforted After Being Triggered

Mental - Character Has Breakdown

Noncon - Character's Support Person Stays With Them While They Get Medical Care After

Hi! There are two characters I'm strongly considering nominating who really benefit from piping bc they share a name. They are both Shen Qingqiu, but then a new character takes over the original Shen Qingqiu’s body and identity without anyone else knowing. The new Shen Qingqiu is the main character of the book, so he's generally referred to by that name even tho it didn't originally belong to him. There is also the fact that the fandom sometimes treats his old name (Shen Yuan) as referring to a version of him where he *isn't* SQQ

So the character tags are Shen Jiu | Original Shen Qingqiu and Shen Yuan | Shen Qingqiu to avoid any confusion about which character is being tagged. Is that alright?

Hello!

I'm thinking about nominating a couple characters from My Hero Academia, but some of them are more known by other titles or identities.

For example, 'Dabi | Todoroki Touya', who was introduced as Dabi and then revealed several seasons later to be Touya, another mentioned character. Same dealio with 'Shigaraki Tomura | Shimura Tenko'.

Similarly, a bunch of the pro heroes go by either their hero name or their birth name depending on context. 'Takami Keigo | Hawks' is known by his hero name (Hawks) and his real name is kept locked down so that very few people know. Other examples, although they come up less commonly, are 'Usagiyama Rumi | Miruko' and 'Todoroki Enji | Endeavor'.

The most common BNHA potential noms are unpiped, but I wanted to check in about these guys! Thank you!

The first two examples seem reasonable and helps to clarify who you're speaking about, especially if they're given later canon identities. The second example seems more along the lines of the reason for the rule, i.e. the piping issue being mainly due to characters with a lot of canonical titles that can cause a lot of clutter in the tagset. For those I would go with their most commonly used names in fandom to make them recognizable. Thanks for asking!

hello! sorry if this is explained and i'm not seeing it, but i'd like to nominate a few ships both ways - as in, with either character traumatized. in that case should i nominate the ship twice, specifying each character in the parenthetical? e.g if i didn't have a preference for satosugu from jjk, do i need to nominate all these:

1. Geto Suguru/Gojo Satoru (JJK) (Suguru traumatized)
2. Geto Suguru/Gojo Satoru (JJK) (Satoru traumatized)
3. Geto Suguru/Gojo Satoru (JJK) (both traumatized)

Yes, that would be how you would nominate it. There wasn't a clean way to put multiple options in one nom, so nomming one ship with different permutations of who is traumatized was the best solution, so we maxed out the relationship nom slots to account for that.

Star Wars Questions (i'm so sorry)

I'm curious how nominating under a specific show or trilogy impacts the gift? Like...for example, Mon Mothma and Leia Organa appear in several different properties.

If I only nominate Leia under the original trilogy, does that mean I will only receive fic of her in the OT timeline? Or am I just nominating her under a property that I want my gifter to have knowledge of?

If it's about when the fic is placed, do I nominate a character separately under all the different properties they appear in?

If there are characters that are canonically alive during a certain trilogy, but they don't appear in the actual trilogy, but we'd like a fic of them set during that time period, how would we nominate it? (eg, Amilyn Holdo is alive and canonically works with the Rebellion but she's not in the Original trilogy)

Essentially the second one. The divide is mainly organizational, not prescriptive; if you requested on Leia under OT, you could indicate which other properties you're familiar with and opt in to receiving fic from those eras of her life. But if you're interested in all eras of a character's story, I think your best bet is to nom under the chronologically latest installment that they appear in, and use your optional details to indicate you'd also like fic set in earlier eras of that character's life. A person who's consumed the latest installment is more likely to have seen past installments.

If you want to maximize your chances of getting a specific era of canon, you can certainly nominate the character separately in every version of Star Wars you want.

If there are characters that are canonically alive during a certain trilogy, but they don't appear in the actual trilogy, but we'd like a fic of them set during that time period, how would we nominate it? (eg, Amilyn Holdo is alive and canonically works with the Rebellion but she's not in the Original trilogy)
If a character does not appear in a certain canon, please don't nominate them under that canon. If you wanted Amilyn Holdo in the OT era, that's not something you can guarantee with a request, but you can request her under a property she does appear in and mention in your optional details that you would be interested in fic from that time period. If you wanted a relationship with a character from that era and they never appear in the same canon, you can either use optional details to indicate that you're interested in that relationship, or nominate the relationship under Crossover Fandom.

The Umbrella Academy (TV) has some confusing stuff with alternate selves with the same names. The ones I'm nominating are: both "Original Ben Hargreeves" and "Sparrow!Ben Hargreeves" (separate canon character, not a literal bird), as well as "Commission Era!Number Five" and "Canon Era!Number Five." Ugh, I think that's the clearest way to do it because there's no canon name for the alternate version of Five; sometimes people refer to him as "Old Five" but that's always confused me because the Five that looks younger is actually the older one (time travel bullshit.) Also, people have disambiguated the two Bens on AO3 as "Number Six | Ben Hargreeves" and "Number Two | Ben Hargreeves" (since they have different codenames in their alternate universes) but this seems unnecessarily confusing to me, since there's ANOTHER Number Six (Jayme Hargreeves) and Number Two (Diego Hargreeves) in each universe! I ended up just nominating most of the relationships with plain "Ben Hargreeves" since I'd be okay with either, but let me know if you think there should be a tag for each (and/or I should use the canonical piping? But it does seem really confusing.)

While I'm at it, I also wanted to let you know that I nominated the seven siblings under "Allison & Ben & Diego & Five & Klaus & Luther & Viktor Hargreeves (TUA TV) (all traumatized)" because they all have the last name Hargreeves and it was getting long.

Hi! Thank you so much for letting us know. I'm familiar with the fandom, so I understand how the canon alternate universe stuff can be confusing. Original Ben and Sparrow Ben should be fine! I prefer that to the piping and I think that's less confusing, given other characters are also Number Six or Number 2. Nominating the seven siblings like that is perfectly fine as well. Thank you!

Hello mods! I nominated a few Overwatch ships including Widowmaker | Amélie Lacroix. I prefer to pipe her name, as I am equally interested in stories exploring pre-transformation Amélie and post-transformation Widowmaker, but if you'd rather I edit to just 'Widowmaker' (as the persona we see most often in canon), I'm happy to do so.
